  • Have Faith in Every Season

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."  —Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT Every season of life is an opportunity to grow in faith. When you face the unknown, remember that God’s plans are always good and His guidance is perfect. He lovingly walks with you through uncertainty, using it as a chance to strengthen your trust in Him. Instead of focusing on what you don’t know, celebrate the truth that God knows every detail of your journey. The unknown becomes less intimidating when you recognize it as part of His purpose to bless and grow you. Prayer: Lord, thank You for leading me with love and wisdom. Even in seasons of uncertainty, I trust that Your plans for me are good. Help me to embrace every moment with faith and confidence, remembering that You are always with me. In Jesus' name, Amen. Reflection: What’s one thing you can do this week to trust God more? Write it down and thank Him for walking with you every step of the way.

  • Sheneico Eastwood Talks New Book: Prayer-Proofing Your Marriage

Wife, mother, and motivational speaker, Sheneico Eastwood, is a passionate advocate for the power of prayer in marriage. As the author of Prayer Proofing Your Marriage: A Praying Wife’s Devotional to Strengthen and Protect Her Family , she is encouraging wives to build a strong foundation of faith through consistent prayer. Drawing from personal experience, Sheneico understands how vital prayer is in covering not just a marriage but an entire family. Fresh off the launch of her book, she opens up about the inspiration behind it and the impact she hopes to make. Sheneico Eastwood at the official launch of her book Prayer Proofing Your Marriage in Portmore, Jamaica What inspired you to write Prayer Proofing Your Marriage? SHENEI CO: I usually write prayers for my marriage and one day God spoke to me to write a book so other wives could benefit from praying consistently for their family, spouse and children. This was almost 3 years ago. I delayed for a good while until last year, I said, I need to be obedient. What was the writing process like? Did you include some of the prayers you usually pray or did God give you specific prayers to include in your book? SHENEI CO: The process was long, I got discouraged many times because I was doubting myself. But then, I seek God's direction on the things I should pray about. After which, I seek assistance from a publisher to get guidance in the formatting and to help me push through on the journey. The more I delayed, the more I realized why I needed to complete this assignment. What would you say gave you that wake-up call to push forward? SHENEI CO: I was reminded that persons are waiting on the message of my book, I was reminded by my support group at DayeLight Publishers that this book is not about me but about what God wants to do in marriages globally. What are some of the biggest misconceptions you believe people have about praying for their marriage? SHENEI CO: Some big misconceptions are they believe prayer won't change or fix things. People believe that they have been praying and not getting any response or not seeing any changes. Some persons sadly believe that prayer can't change things. Purchase your copy of Prayer Proofing Your Marriage here If a wife feels discouraged or like her prayers aren’t making a difference, in what way do you believe your book will help her along her journey? SHENEI CO: This book will encourage her to be consistent in praying and listening to God. Many times we pray but we don't listen to hear what God is saying. Many times we pray and we don't wait because we feel God should do it now. This book will help wives to pray and exercise faith as they pray, if you are praying and doubting then you are defeating the purpose. This book will encourage wives to stay the course even if things don't seem to be changing but to pray and ask God to direct them in how they should deal with their situations. My husband and I prayed for years for our now five-year-old. And when I finally got pregnant I had to pray through the journey as many days I would bleed and thought we were losing her. We had to pray through delivery when I had to do an emergency c-section. So I know there is power in prayer. What other themes or topics in relation to praying for your family do you touch on in the book that readers can look forward to? SHENEI CO: This book looks at topics such as lasting Love, faithfulness, forgiveness, peace of mind, health, wealth, sexual fulfillment, children, infertility and protection over your marriage and family. Where can people get a copy of Prayer Proofing Your Marriage and how can they connect with you? When you take care of yourself, you are empowered to live your best life and fulfill your purpose. Here are some practical tips to help you create a holistic health routine that honours both your body and spirit. 1. Start Your Day with Intention Begin each morning by setting positive intentions for the day. Start with a brief moment of stillness or prayer, aligning your mind with your purpose and focusing on gratitude. This practice not only strengthens your spiritual connection but also sets a peaceful tone for your day. 2. Nourish Your Body with Whole Foods A healthy diet is vital for your body. Focus on consuming nutrient-rich, whole foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Hydrate well by drinking water throughout the day. Your body is a temple, and fueling it with healthy food helps maintain its strength. 3. Exercise Often Physical activity is essential for overall health. Choose exercises that you enjoy, whether it’s walking, jogging, or strength training. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. Regular movement not only supports your physical health but also enhances your mental clarity and emotional state. 4. Remember to Rest Your body needs rest to recharge and heal. Ensure that you get enough sleep each night (7-9 hours for most adults) and allow yourself time for relaxation. Spiritual rest is equally important. Pray and engage in practices like meditation or deep breathing to calm your mind and spirit. 5. Think Positive Challenge negative thoughts and replace them with affirmations that focus on gratitude, growth, and abundance. • Nadine Valentine On Answering the Call to Be a Worship Leader and Gospel Recording Artiste

For Nadine Valentine, music isn’t just her passion—it’s a calling she couldn’t ignore. From singing in a band as a teenager to leading worship, her journey has been shaped by obedience, faith, and purpose.  Along with being an ordained minister, author, teacher, wife, and mother, she now inspires others through her songs such as "Your Love," "Your Glory," and "Only You." In this interview, Nadine shares key moments from her journey as a recording artiste, the story behind her new book, and what she hopes to do next for the Kingdom. Gospel recording artiste Nadine Valentine How did you know you were being called into music ministry? NADINE: When I was a teenager, I would have dreams of speaking before crowds of people. However, this did not become a reality until I became a believer and actually began ministering to people during praise and worship and speaking engagements. I was also a singer on a band called New Life when I was a teenager. Would you say you jumped at the opportunity to lead worship or did you have to build the confidence, despite knowing it was your calling? NADINE: I was placed by my pastor, Dr. Alvin Bailey because I sang my testimony at my baptism. I've always been a confident person and having had the experience singing as a teenager; that helped. However, the Spirit of God was instrumental in teaching me to worship from a consecrated place and to lead His people to worship. My mother would share with me much later that at my christening my godmother prophesied that I would be a singer. So, throughout your younger years, the trajectory was already being set. What led to the moment you recorded your first single, "Your Love"? How did that song come about? NADINE: Yes it was and no matter how far I ran from the Lord, His hand was heavy on me. My prayer mother told me it was time and a close friend of mine introduced me to her producer friend. We met up and "Your Love" was birthed in a recording studio. He and I co-wrote that one and it was inspired by my journey of experiencing God's love after being disappointed with other loves. This is for you and me and everyone who knows that God has called them to do more than just get by. He has called us to be His standard bearers, to accomplish much for His glory. What inspired your latest releases, "Your Glory" and "Only You", and what do you hope listeners take away from them? NADINE: "Your Glory" was birthed in a time of prayer and worship when I just basking in His presence. My hope is that others will come to an understanding that it's all about His glory. "Only You" declares that everything is all about Him and that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess one day that He alone is Lord. I was at the nail shop when I received the chorus and then my friend was inspired to write the verses and bridge. 2024 was a fruitful year for you. You also released your book, Heaven Revealed: Addressing Misconceptions About Heaven . What can readers expect when they get a copy? NADINE: Thank you. It was. I believe I was tasked by the Holy Spirit to unravel some misconceptions about a place that many long for. It's a short read but packed with scripture to address common myths about heaven. I do believe I have much more to write on the end times but as the Lord leads. I have always been concerned about the lack of teaching in Christian circles which has allowed many lies to be perpetrated by those who do not even attend church. Hence, this book at this time and hopefully with a part two in the not too distant future. Purchase Heaven Revealed by Nadine Valentine here You juggle so many roles—gospel artiste, teacher, minister, wife, and mother. How do you manage to stay grounded in your faith while balancing all these responsibilities? NADINE: Through much prayer. Much, much prayer, staying in the word, and connections with godly people who hold me accountable. My pastors, prayer mothers, my spiritual daughters, and last but not least, my husband, who counsels and prays for me and provides that balance that is needed. I also host women's conferences, and I'm studying again. My desire is to die empty, so whatever my hands find to do and as the Lord leads I follow. I also take time out to refresh and rejuvenate by traveling and taking vacations when I can. What’s next for you? Are there any exciting projects on the horizon? NADINE: I have a new single called "REIGN" coming out this month; February 21. I will also be hosting a women's conference in July this year. Planning is underway. Philippians 4:13 is your go-to scripture. How has this verse shaped your journey so far? NADINE: I believe with all my heart that I can do all He has assigned me to do. I stand on this verse for everything, and I mean everything. He gives strength for all that He calls us to fulfill in Him. When I get tired and overwhelmed, I remind myself that He has provided the strength to keep pressing. This is for you and me and everyone who knows that God has called them to do more than just get by. He has called us to be His standard bearers, to accomplish much for His glory. Listen to Nadine's latest single, "Only You".

  • The Power of Love in Action: How to Show Christlike Compassion in Your Everyday Interactions

In a world that often feels divided and filled with chaos, showing compassion can seem like a small act. However, when we choose to reflect Christ’s love in our everyday interactions, we can create a ripple effect that transforms not only our own lives but the lives of those around us. Christlike compassion is more than just a feeling—it is love in action, demonstrated through kindness, understanding, and selflessness. In this post, we will explore the power of love in action and how you can embody Christlike compassion in your daily life. 1. Understand the True Meaning of Compassion Christlike compassion goes beyond sympathy. It involves not only feeling for someone in their suffering but also helping where possible to alleviate their pain. Jesus demonstrated this through countless acts of kindness—whether healing the sick, feeding the hungry, or comforting the brokenhearted. He didn’t just recognize the needs of others; He took action to meet those needs. In Matthew 14:14, we read: "When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them and healed their sick." This was not a fleeting emotion but a deep, driving force that led to tangible action. Christ calls us to do the same. 2. Listen to Understand One of the most powerful ways to show Christlike compassion is by listening with empathy. Jesus often took the time to listen to people, understanding their struggles and offering a kind word or healing touch. In the same way, we can show compassion by giving others our full attention and understanding when they speak. In James 1:19, we are reminded: "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." When we listen, we not only validate the emotions of others but also create an opportunity to offer support, whether through words or actions. 3. Offer Kindness Without Expectations Jesus demonstrated unconditional love and kindness without expecting anything in return. Whether He was washing His disciples' feet or healing those who had nothing to give, Christ’s love was freely given. Showing compassion means extending kindness to others without waiting for recognition or rewards. Colossians 3:12 says: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." This unconditional love is the heart of Christlike compassion. When we show love and kindness to others—regardless of their status, past, or actions—we reflect the love Jesus showed us. 4. Serve Others Selflessly Compassion is not passive—it requires action. Serving others selflessly, without seeking personal gain, reflects Christ’s servant heart. Jesus lived a life of service, and He calls us to do the same. Whether it’s helping a neighbour in need or volunteering for a cause, serving others is one of the most powerful ways to show compassion. In Matthew 20:28, Jesus reminds us: "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Serving others can take many forms—tangible acts of service, sharing your time, or even offering a prayer for someone in need. 5. Let Go of Grudges One of the most challenging aspects of compassion is moving on. Jesus demonstrated this even in the most difficult circumstances, such as when He forgave those who crucified Him. Moving on from the pain when others have hurt us is one of the most powerful ways to show Christlike compassion, even to ourselves, as we allow ourselves to heal. In Luke 6:27-28, Jesus says: "But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Choosing to move on releases us from bitterness and allows us to live life without holding on to past hurts. Remember, compassion is not just something we feel—it’s something we do. Let’s be the hands and feet of Christ in the world, sharing His love through our actions and making a difference one compassionate act at a time.

  • How I Defeat Narcissists

Narcissists are often perceived as confident and self-assured individuals, but at their core, they are deeply insecure. This insecurity fuels their God complex, where they see themselves as superior to others. A study by the British Journal of Psychology (2016) highlights that narcissists are generally insecure people who seek validation through dominance and control. This understanding is crucial when dealing with narcissists, as it helps to see beyond their facade of confidence and understand their true nature. The Best Strategy: Not Dealing with Narcissists The most effective way to deal with a narcissist is to avoid dealing with them altogether. Narcissists never assess their own behavior and never believe they are wrong. This lack of self-awareness means they do not introspect, seek personal growth, or hold themselves accountable. When you engage with a narcissist, they are likely to stonewall or gaslight you, making you feel inferior or confused. Recognizing these manipulative tactics is the first step in realizing how small they are and how easy it can be to walk away from them. Identifying Narcissists: Covert and Overt Overt Narcissists are the more obvious type, often displaying grandiosity, arrogance, and a need for admiration. They tend to boast about their achievements, seek constant validation, and show little empathy for others. They thrive on being the center of attention and can be domineering in social situations. Covert Narcissists are more subtle and harder to spot. They often present themselves as victims or martyrs, using passive-aggressive behavior to manipulate others. They may seem humble or shy but are secretly envious and resentful. Covert narcissists often guilt-trip others to get their way and are adept at playing the victim to gain sympathy and control. Tell-Tale Signs of a Narcissist 1. Lack of Empathy: Both overt and covert narcissists show little genuine concern for others’ feelings or needs. 2. Need for Admiration: Overt narcissists seek constant praise, while covert narcissists crave reassurance and validation, often through indirect means. 3. Manipulative Behavior: Narcissists use manipulation to maintain control, whether through overt intimidation or covert guilt-tripping. 4. Grandiosity: Overt narcissists display an inflated sense of self-importance, while covert narcissists might secretly believe they are superior to others despite outward appearances. 5. Victim Mentality: Covert narcissists often portray themselves as victims to gain sympathy and manipulate others into fulfilling their needs. Subtle Scenarios of Narcissistic Behavior 1. Constantly One-Upping: If someone always has to top your stories or achievements with their own, it may indicate narcissistic tendencies. This behavior shows their need to be seen as superior. 2. Feigning Interest: A person might appear to listen to you but quickly steer the conversation back to themselves. This subtle self-centeredness is a hallmark of narcissism. 3. Backhanded Compliments: These are disguised as praise but actually serve to belittle you. For example, “You did a great job on that project, considering you usually struggle with deadlines.” 4. Playing the Victim: If someone frequently portrays themselves as being wronged or misunderstood, it can be a way to garner sympathy and control others through guilt. 5. Subtle Undermining: A narcissist might undermine your confidence through small, seemingly innocuous comments that cause you to doubt yourself. The Courage to Walk Away Walking away from a narcissist requires boldness and a disregard for what others might think. The constant need to feed a narcissist’s ego is often a result of mental programming that can be hard to break. However, it becomes easier once you prioritize your own needs over the narcissist’s fake needs. Learning to do away with people-pleasing and not caring about others’ opinions empowers you to break free from the narcissist’s hold. Building Self-Worth The power a narcissist holds over you lies in making you believe that your worth depends on them. This is a falsehood. Overcoming this lie involves embracing your true identity and building your self-worth. Understand that a narcissist seeks to control, divide, and conquer. By cutting off contact with the narcissist and avoiding them, you deny them the attention they crave. You must understand that in the same way the narcissist seeks to control you through mental programming, you can also regain control by programming your own mind to be free. For the narcissist cannot control who he cannot control. Exposing the Narcissist When it is safe, you should tell others about the narcissist. During the early stages of overcoming a narcissist, it can weigh heavily on your psyche, especially if you’re just beginning to understand what narcissism is. Sharing your experiences with trusted individuals can provide you with the support you need and help you process what you’re going through. By informing others about the narcissistic person’s behavior and actions, you enable them to recognize these patterns as well. Eventually, others will begin to see the truth, and the narcissist hates being exposed. This exposure can be a powerful tool in diminishing the narcissist’s influence and control. Over time, identifying these traits will become very easy, and the hold that this type of personality has over you will be non-existent. Ignoring the Narcissist’s Retaliation When you avoid or expose a narcissist, they may try to retaliate by spreading lies or seeking revenge. In such situations, unless it involves life-threatening circumstances or legal issues, it is best to ignore the narcissist. They act out to provoke a reaction from you. Understanding this allows you to give them what they hate most: absolute silence. Even if legal action is necessary, minimizing contact with the narcissist remains the best approach. When a narcissist is stripped of influence and can no longer hide their true being, he or she loses their strength. How does a narcissist lose influence? When they have no audience and the audience leaves when it sees the narcissist for who they truly are. Understanding the Narcissist’s Weakness A narcissist thrives on attention and validation from others. Their actions are driven by deep-seated insecurity. When you realize that others’ thoughts don’t hold much sway in your life, you begin to strive for self-actualization and personal growth. You become someone you trust, and you can identify and eliminate negative influences. This shift starts with letting go of the need to please others and understanding that you have a responsibility to protect yourself. My Personal Experience: In my personal experience, I have dealt with narcissists in various aspects of my life. In relationships, I’ve encountered narcissists who were envious of my success and took joy in my suffering, even in the slightest. The narcissist would accuse me falsely, trying to create a narrative that wasn’t true, as well as, flip situations to make me appear as the agitator. In my work life, I have dealt with a narcissist who would praise and curse me from the same mouth. The narc would tell lies to make themself feel better and try to undermine my value in the workplace. Nonetheless, by employing the strategies I discuss in this article, I have seen these narcissists crumble. However, it’s important to note that your desire should never be to focus on the narcissist or to see them fall. Even that gives the narcissist too much energy. Your goal in life should always be self-actualization and self-love. The narc will dissipate naturally. Embracing Self-Actualization Overcoming a narcissist is about understanding their weaknesses and building your own strengths. By recognizing their insecurity and their need for control, you can break free from their influence. Prioritize your self-worth, embrace your true identity, and strive for personal growth. Silence and avoidance are powerful tools in dealing with them. Ultimately, trust yourself and protect your well-being, because your life depends on your own thoughts, words, and actions, not on the false narratives of a narcissist. You overcome the insecure narcissist by being secure in yourself.

  • How to Use Faith in Career Planning: Trusting God's Timing and Direction for Professional Success

Planning your career can often feel overwhelming. Questions about the right path to take, the best opportunities to pursue, or the timing of important decisions can create stress and uncertainty. But what if you approached career planning with faith at the center? Trusting in God’s timing and direction can provide clarity and peace in an otherwise chaotic process. In this post, we’ll explore how to incorporate faith into your career goals, allowing God’s guidance to lead you toward professional success. 1. Acknowledge God as the Master Planner One of the most powerful ways to integrate faith into your career journey is by recognizing that God has a plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse is a reminder to lean on God’s wisdom and trust that His plans for your career are greater than you can imagine. 2. Align Your Goals with Your Purpose Faith-based career planning involves seeking alignment between your goals and God’s purpose for your life. Ask yourself: Does this career choice align with my values? Will this role allow me to honor God? When your professional aspirations align with your spiritual purpose, you’re more likely to experience fulfillment and long-term success. 3. Trust God’s Timing Sometimes, delays or closed doors can feel like setbacks, but they’re often part of God’s plan to redirect you to something better. Trusting His timing means being patient, even when things don’t happen as quickly as you’d like. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." 4. Take Action in Faith While trusting in God’s plan is crucial, faith also requires action. Step out of your comfort zone, apply for that job, enroll in that course, or start that business you’ve been praying about. James 2:26 reminds us that faith without works is dead. Show God you trust His plan by taking practical steps toward your goals while relying on Him to guide your way. 5. Surround Yourself with Supportive Influences Who you surround yourself with can impact how you approach career planning. Seek mentors, colleagues, and friends who share your faith and values. Their encouragement and wisdom can help you stay focused on God’s plan, even when challenges arise. 6. Celebrate Small Wins and Stay Grateful Faith teaches us to be thankful in all circumstances. Celebrate the small victories in your career journey and give thanks for God’s guidance, even during challenging times. Gratitude keeps you grounded and reminds you of His faithfulness. When you rely on God's wisdom and guidance, you can navigate your professional journey with peace and assurance, knowing He’s leading you to the success He’s prepared for you. What’s one way you’ve trusted God in your career journey? Share your story in the comments below—we’d love to hear from you!

  • "I did lose faith at one point" Jamila Brown's Inspirational Journey to Becoming a Medical Doctor

A deep love for problem-solving and getting to the bottom of mysteries led Jamila Brown to pursue a career in medicine. Now, a medical doctor, she had a chat with us about some of the highs and lows she experienced along her journey to the esteemed profession. From sharing about her time studying in Cuba to how she lost faith in God, it's guaranteed that you will be both moved and amazed by this discussion. Dr. Jamila Brown Describe the moment you knew you wanted to become a doctor. DR. JAMILA: I knew I wanted to be a doctor after my mother passed away. Initially, I wanted to be a forensic scientist, because I loved mysteries and solving them. And then my interest grew into forensic pathology, because I had an interest, a morbid interest really, in the dead, and cause of death, and so I wanted to combine that aspect with my love for problem-solving. So. when my mother passed away, it solidified my interest in going down that path of medicine, because it was what I had left her with. Wow, it’s an understatement to say but your mother would definitely be so proud of where you are today. After choosing that specific area, you went on to do your studies in Cuba. What was the experience like? DR. JAMILA:  My experience was bittersweet. I loved Cuba, and I was eager to begin my studies there. I loved the melting pot of cultures. I had friends from all over the globe. But being in a foreign country takes a lot of adjustments because it's a whole different way of life, which at times, proved to be very difficult. Looking back, I definitely miss Cuba; I have spent my youth there. And I'm really grateful for the time I spent there. You mention it being bittersweet. As a believer, how has faith played a part in your journey to becoming a medical doctor? DR. JAMILA: My faith was tested the most around covid time. Because I was faced with food shortages and not being able to travel home. So I was depressed and hungry. A terrible combination. At the end of the day, when things were too much to handle, I really had to fight to hold on to what I knew God to be. I had to fight to understand that while things around me were changing, His love for me had not changed. The situations happening around me were not an indication of God's lack of presence or his lack of love for me. I did lose faith at one point, cause I remember saying that there's nothing more I can do to endure it; I cannot hold on to Him anymore; I am too weak to, and I asked Him to hold on to me instead. And He did. Because I'm here now (lol). Dr. Jamila Brown Indeed. You’ve come out the other side stronger. What’s been your favourite part about the profession so far or your most memorable moment? DR. JAMILA: I'd say my favourite part is knowing how to relate well with my patients. I'm happy when they feel safe with me and satisfied. Also, being a doctor allows me to meet people from different backgrounds, which I really love, because they all give me different perspectives on life, which makes me into a better person. In the coming years, how do you see yourself evolving in the medical field? DR. JAMILA: Well, I'm all about personal growth and trying to understand my patients more. I want to be very good at what I do. I want to be very good at diagnosing and treating my patients. Also, I hope that in the future, I can specialize in forensic pathology. Very cool! Your best years are ahead of you and you’ve still accomplished so much. What encouragement would you give to other young people passionate about medicine? DR. JAMILA: Study Hard! Don't be distracted. And never sacrifice your future for frivolous moments. Remain dedicated. And most importantly, put God first. One for the road; off the top of your head, what would you consider to be one of the greatest medical breakthroughs or inventions made to date? I was reading an article about a life-changing treatment for sickle cell patients that includes gene therapy. I was very happy to see that because Sickle Cell Disease can be a very debilitating illness.

When you make it faith-focused, you not only lay out your aspirations but also align them with your spiritual journey. Let’s dive into how you can create a vision board that inspires you all year long! What’s a Vision Board? A vision board is simply a collection of images, quotes, and symbols that represent your dreams and goals. It’s a visual reminder of what you want to accomplish. When your board reflects your faith, it becomes a beautiful way to invite God into your plans and trust Him to guide you along the way. Step 1: Start with Prayer Before you get crafty, take a moment to pray. Ask God to guide you as you think about your goals for the new year. Consider what areas you want to grow in—spiritually, personally, and professionally. Jotting down your thoughts can help you clarify your intentions and set the stage for your vision board. Think about these questions: What has God been nudging you about lately? Are there specific Bible verses that inspire you? What dreams do you feel called to pursue this year? Step 2: Gather Your Supplies Now it’s time to gather your materials! You can choose to create a physical board or a digital one, depending on what you enjoy. For a physical vision board, you’ll need: A corkboard or poster board Magazines or printed images Scissors and glue Markers or colored pens Stickers or other fun decorations If you prefer a digital board: Use design software or apps (like Canva or Pinterest) Find images and quotes online Create a blank document to assemble your board Step 3: Define Your Goals Next, think about what you want to focus on this year. Consider different areas of your life, like: Spiritual Growth:  Deepening your faith, studying the Bible, or volunteering. Health and Wellness:  Setting fitness goals, eating better, or taking time for self-care. Career Aspirations:  Looking for new job opportunities, pursuing a promotion, or starting a passion project. Relationships:  Strengthening friendships, improving family connections, or finding a meaningful partnership. Choose goals that resonate with you and think about how they connect to your faith. You might want to add some encouraging scriptures or quotes that motivate you. Step 4: Collect Inspiring Images and Quotes Now comes the fun part—finding images and quotes! Look for visuals that make you feel excited about your goals. This could be anything from photos of places you want to visit to words of encouragement that speak to your heart. For a faith-focused touch, consider adding: Uplifting Bible verses. Quotes from Christian authors or speakers. Images that represent your spiritual journey or dreams. Step 5: Create Your Vision Board Once you have everything ready, it’s time to assemble your vision board! Arrange your images, quotes, and decorations on your board however you like. Don’t be afraid to get creative—this is all about what inspires you. As you add each piece, take a moment to pray over it. Ask God to bless your goals and to guide you as you work toward them. This prayerful intention makes your vision board even more powerful. Step 6: Display Your Vision Board After your board is complete, find a spot to display it where you’ll see it often. Whether it’s in your office, bedroom, or any place you frequent, having your vision board in view will remind you of your goals and your faith every day. Step 7: Check In and Update Regularly Creating your vision board is just the first step! As the year goes on, take time each month to check in on your goals and see how you’re progressing. Feel free to update your board throughout the year. Your goals may shift, and that’s completely normal. Keeping your vision board fresh will help it stay relevant and motivating. A faith-focused vision board is a great way to align your goals with your spiritual journey. By praying, setting intentions, and visualizing your dreams, you invite God into your plans and trust Him to lead you. As you start this new year, may your vision board remind you of the beautiful dreams and desires He has placed in your heart and that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, far above what you could ask or think (Eph 3: 20).

  • 7 Stress-Relieving Practices for a Peaceful Holiday Season

The holiday season is often filled with joy, gatherings, and celebrations. However, it can also bring its fair share of stress. Between shopping for gifts, attending events, and balancing work and family, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The good news is that with a little intentionality, you can enjoy a peaceful, joy-filled holiday season. Here are 7 stress-relieving practices to help you stay calm, centered, and grounded for the busy week ahead. 1. Start with Gratitude One of the simplest ways to reduce stress during the holiday season is to focus on gratitude. When we shift our perspective from what’s causing stress to what we’re thankful for, it helps to reset our mindset. Each morning, take a few moments to reflect on three things you’re grateful for, no matter how small. This practice not only sets a positive tone for your day but also helps you approach the holidays with a sense of abundance rather than overwhelm. Keep a gratitude journal where you can jot down your thoughts each day. It’s a small habit that can make a big difference. 2. Set Boundaries and Say No It’s easy to overcommit during the holidays, whether it’s attending events, hosting gatherings, or trying to do everything on your to-do list. But setting healthy boundaries is key to protecting your peace. Give yourself permission to say no to things that drain your energy or add unnecessary stress. Remember, it’s okay to skip that extra party or delegate tasks to others. The holidays should be about joy, not exhaustion. 3. Create a Budget (and Stick to It) Holiday spending can be a major source of stress, especially if you’re trying to buy gifts, decorate your home, and plan festive meals. Avoid financial anxiety by creating a realistic holiday budget. Decide how much you’re willing to spend on gifts, food, and activities, and stick to it. Remember, meaningful gifts don’t have to be expensive, and the best holiday memories often come from experiences, not material things. As we approach Christmas Day, set a spending limit for each person on your gift list, if you haven't gotten the opportunity to go shopping as yet, and track your expenses. This will help you avoid overspending and post-holiday debt. 4. Prioritize Sleep It’s tempting to stay up late wrapping gifts or preparing for holiday events, but sacrificing sleep can quickly lead to burnout. Lack of rest not only affects your mood but also makes it harder to manage stress. Make sleep a priority this holiday season by sticking to a consistent bedtime routine and creating a restful environment in your home. Set a regular bedtime and aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Create a relaxing evening routine with a cup of tea, a good book, or some calming music to help you wind down. 5. Embrace Simplicity The pressure to create a “perfect” holiday can lead to unnecessary stress. Instead of focusing on perfection, embrace simplicity. Not every dish has to be homemade, and not every decoration needs to be extravagant. By simplifying your plans and expectations, you’ll free yourself from the burden of doing it all and can focus on what really matters—spending time with those you love. 6. Spend Time in Nature Nature has a calming effect on the mind and body, especially during the hectic holiday season. Taking a walk outside, even for just a few minutes, can help reduce stress and clear your mind. Enjoy the fresh winter air and the beauty of the season as you step away from the holiday rush. 7. Stay Connected with Loved Ones While the holidays can be busy, it’s important to stay connected with the people who matter most. Meaningful conversations, shared laughter, and quality time with loved ones can help ease your stress and remind you of the joy that comes from your close-knit relationships. Whether it’s a phone call, a chat over a cup of coffee, or a family game night, focus on spending time with those who uplift and support you. By embracing these simple practices you can create a peaceful holiday season that’s centered on what truly matters. This year, let’s choose peace over perfection and celebrate Christmas with a heart full of joy.
